Is the Glass Half Full or Half Empty?

That is a hard question for me to answer today. I am trying to look at the bright side of things but after finding out yesterday that the people that were going to buy our house lost their financing, it is slightly hard. So here we go again. The house is back on the market, we no longer have a closing date, but yet we are all set up to move into our new apartment on May 4th. We have decided to just go ahead and suck up the double housing payments so that Eric doesn't have to travel back and forth and I don't have to be a single mom during the week. So that will be nice, but we then have to find someone to take care of the yard and sit from a far and hope that our house sells quickly. So this post isn't too sad and depressing I decided to go ahead and post pictures from our fun trip to Sea World last week.

We got to San Antonio early Thursday afternoon and decided to spend some time on the river walk. It was nice because it wasn't too crowded. We took a boat ride around the river and then decided to eat dinner at the Rainforest Cafe which was a lot of fun for Ethan and Emily.

Friday and Saturday we woke up and headed over to Sea World. We all had so much fun! The shows were great and the kids and Eric loved the rides. The weather was perfect and there were no lines. Eric was able to ride all the big roller coasters several times in a row without even getting off! Here are a lot more pictures with explanations! It was a great family vacation and definitely worth the extra 4 or 5 dollars per ticket to do 2 days!

Here they are feeding the dolphins. The kids were too scared to touch the dolphins but they loved feeding (or throwing) the little fish to the dolphins.

Emily loved all the rides, she wanted to ride all of them! I love this picture because she is has her head thrown back and she was laughing so hard! It was the cutest thing ever.

Another ride that Emily wanted to go on again and again. She was a dare devil and would throw her hands in the air and not even hold on.

This is Ethan and Emily with their whales that Dad won for them. They cost $35 each in the gift shop, but after only $15 on the boardwalk games Dad had won one for each of them! What a deal!

Here we all are at the entrance. Not the greatest picture, but we were all in it.

This was by far the favorite ride! You can see that Ethan is a little scared, but he still loved it. He was ready to do it again! I was surprised (and slightly nervous) that he was brave enough to sit up there all by himself without daddy holding on.

So you can see from the pictures that it was a fun trip. We will definitely go back again in the future!

Easter Celebration

It is definetely time for a new post! Needless to say things have been crazy with the house being on the market and all, but I have some cute pics of Easter that I thought would be fun to share!
Here is Emily checking out her Easter basket. I wasn't too thrilled to have the curlers in all the pictures but we had to put them in early to be ready for church.

Here is Emily with her new Cinderella doll from the Easter Bunny!

Ethan checking out his Spiderman eggs from the Easter Bunny! He liked those more than anything else he got.

The curlers finally came out! They looked so cute all dressed up and ready for church!

This is the best shot I could get of Emily's dress. She looked so adorable!

Bittersweet

I am a little sad, but also excited to say that we are moving! Eric took a job with a different company and we will be moving to a new city. Same state, just a new city! We will be sad to leave our home and especially our ward and friends, but we are also looking forward to the adventure of a new city, new ward and new friends! We are also excited to be close to old friends too. We seem to be following Chris and Rainie and Eric's brother and his family live there as well! The only other thing that I am not looking forward to is selling our house. We already have it listed. I feel that it is not in the shape I would like it to be in. There are closets to be organized, furniture to be moved and always lots of cleaning that could be done. But we will survive. To my pleasant suprise we already had one showing! I only had about 20 minutes notice and had an extra kiddo over playing, but we made it! I got the house together and the kids out the door just as they were pulling in. Chances are slim, but wouldn't it be nice if the first people who saw it, bought it? Only in my dreams right. Anyways, so let the stress begin, let the mean clean freak mommy come out, and hope for the best. If anyone out there has been through the fun of selling your house, let me know any secrets or tips you may have. I am going to need all the help I can get.

Lately Ethan has been really excited about the new baby. It is fun this time around because he is older and understands a little more than he did when I was pregnant with Emily. He makes sure to include the baby in his prayers every night. He has said and done quite a few funny little things that I thought I would share.

A few weeks ago he got new sandals. As he was taking off his old ones he put them aside and said "mom lets put these in a special place for the baby. Since they don't fit me anymore we can save them until I can share them with my baby brother." I thought that was really cute, but quickly reminded him that it might be a baby sister.

A few days ago Ethan told Eric that we should name the baby Ethan because he wants to share his name with someone. That wouldn't be at all confusing would it? Yelling Ethan and having them both answer.

The funniest was last night when we were just hanging out. Emily was patting my tummy saying baby, when she decided to kiss it. Ethan then said he wanted to kiss the baby too. I told him to go ahead. He did and then got this look on his face like he had a great idea. I was slightly worried and then he said, "I know what the baby would like. The baby would love to hear knock knock jokes!" So he got really close to my stomach and went on to tell the baby knock knock jokes. He has really been into knock knock jokes lately. One of these days I will have to post some of them. He makes up his own and they make absolutely no sense. I guess that is what makes them funny.

It makes me really excited for this baby to come. I think the kids will have so much fun with their new little sibling. I am sure Emily will have a little bit of a hard time. She still tells me all the time that she is my baby. Hopefully that won't change once another one comes. I tell her and Ethan all the time that they will always be my babies.

Just as an update, I went to the Dr. this week and all is well. It took a while to get the baby to hold still enough, but we were able to hear the heartbeat again. Right as the nurse would find the heartbeat the baby would squirm and she would have to move the thing around again and try to find it again. I still don't really feel much movement, but it was fun to know that the baby really is moving around in there. I also scheduled another ultrasound in 4 weeks. That will be the magic appointment when we find out what's cookin' in there. Boy or girl? What is you vote?

Camping!

This last weekend we decided to join some friends of ours and go camping. It was a lot of preparation, but lots and lots of fun. The park where we camped had a great lake and we were able to borrow a canoe to take out! The kids loved getting out on the water. So the days were spent canoeing and running around getting dirty with friends and the nights were spent around the camp fire, roasting marshmallows and drinking hot chocolate. Emily didn't sleep to well which made for long nights, but we still had a great time. I didn't take as many pictures as I should have, but here are a few that I thought you all might enjoy!

Setting up the tent! Our tent is pretty old school so it took a little longer than we expected to get it set up! We decided a new tent might be nice for the next time we go!

There was a little park not too far from out sight. The kids had lots of fun on the slide!

At the nature center they had a cool little alligator show. Here is Ethan petting the baby alligator!

Sitting on the dock.

Out on the lake. This is the only picture I have of us on the canoe. The kids loved it!

This is the view from our camp site. It looked right over the lake. You can see from the smiles that everyone had lots and lots of fun!

Time Out!

So time outs with Ethan have always been a difficult thing. He has never responded very well to them, but I still use them occasionally. As he has gotten older he has learned to bargain with me. He is always saying "okay mom, I'll make a deal with you. I will do ____ and then ____ will happen." Today he went over the top and made me really think that time out must not be much of a punishment. We were driving home from church and Eric let him roll his window down. Before I knew it he had his foot sticking all the way out the window. I promptly asked him to put his foot back in and he responded with, "I'll make a deal mom, I will stick my foot out the window and then when we get home I will have a time out." I guess some things are just worth the punishment.

The New Baby!

We were very excited to have an ultrasound today of our newest addition. Baby #3 is due early September. The Dr. said everything looks great. It was fun to hear the heartbeat and to see that this baby is already so active. When the tech would hold really still you could see that the baby was wiggling all around. We took Ethan and Emily with us. Emily was too little to realize what was happening, but Ethan keeps talking about his new brother or sister that will be here right before his birthday. We are thrilled to be having another baby and will keep you posted as we get more news and pictures! Here are the ones from today.
